The Danube Delta
The Last Sanctuary of Nature
CLIMATE:

The climate of the Danube Delta is continental temperate with some winds from the East and North-East ( which during the summer bring from the East Europe dry air , very warm, and during the winter bring about severe colds and snow storms), others from the West ( chill and humid air) and some others from the Black Sea( humid air). The average annual temperature is about 11 C; during the winter it varies very little, between - 1 and - 5 C and during the summer is about 21 C. The rainfall is scarce ( 350-450 mm) and fall ununiformly during the year. The air is not dry since there is a strong evaporation of the water from the lakes and swamps.
